Call for Associate Editors: Implementation Science Communications

We are excited to announce the recruitment of Associate Editors for Implementation Science Communications, an open-access journal committed to publishing high-quality research in the field of implementation science. As the journal continues to grow, we seek to expand our editorial team to manage the increasing volume of submissions while maintaining the high standards of scientific rigor that the journal is known for.

We are seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:

  • Implementation science methods
  • Health services research
  • Health systems
  • Global health
  • Public health policy and practice
  • Organizational sciences
  • Medical and professional education and training
  • Policy implementation


Role and Responsibilities:

As an Associate Editor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding manuscripts through the peer review process and ensuring that the journal maintains its scope and standards. Your contributions will focus on two main areas:

1. Manuscript Review and Preparation

  • Handling manuscripts assigned by the Editor-in-Chief, ensuring that peer review is swift, thorough, and efficient.
  • Selecting appropriate peer reviewers and incorporating their feedback to improve manuscripts.Ensuring that manuscripts meet the journal's standards for quality and alignment with its aims.

2. Journal Advocacy and Development

  • Acting as an ambassador for the journal within your field, encouraging submissions that align with the journal's scope.Supporting the journal's growth through suggestions for commissioning opportunities, thematic issues, and new content.
  • Writing occasional reviews or commentaries for the journal as invited.
  • Assisting the Editor-in-Chief in strategies to expand the journal’s impact and readership.


What We Are Looking For:

  • Research Excellence: You should have a minimum of 20 published implementation research papers in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience: A PhD, MD, or equivalent qualification is expected. Senior academic positions, such as Associate Professor, or equivalent roles in research institutions, are ideal.
  • Engagement: You should be actively engaged in research and willing to handle a minimum of 2-3 manuscripts per month.  You must also be willing to be aggressive about finding reviewers and turning around reviews quickly. 
  • Commitment: A dedication to enhancing the quality of research in implementation science and a willingness to contribute to journal strategy and development.
